St John’s Island National Marine Laboratory is happy to announce 5 public guided walks for 2019 on St John’s Island. These guided walks are part of the Marine Conservation Programme, a partnership between the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum and SJINML. The programme is funded by the Jubilee Whale Fund, is free of charge, and open to public. The walks will introduce participants to marine habitats in Singapore, the biodiversity and natural heritage, as well as provide an opportunity to visit SJINML, Singapore’s only offshore marine laboratory. Each guided walk session is open to a maximum of 40 people.
The guided walk involves climbing hills and staircases, and some areas may be slippery. The tour may not be suitable for individuals with restricted mobility.
Do note that the ticket includes a ferry ride to and from St John’s Island. The ferry will take approximately 30 minutes per direction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there a minimum age for the guided walks? Are kids allowed?
A: There is no minimum age, and we encourage kids to join us on our walks! However, there will be a lot of walking during the guided walk and the island is not stroller friendly – so it might not be ideal to bring younger children along. Do note that each child requires his/her ticket to participate in the guided walk.
Q: How do I register for the walk?
A: We will be updating this page with the registration link at 10am on the respective registration dates! Keep a look out!
Q: I managed to get a ticket! Can I bring someone else along with me?
A: One ticket is valid for one person only. You will need to register for the other members of your group.
Q: The tickets are sold out. Can I be put on the waiting list?
A: Please register for the waiting list on the registration link above. We regret to inform you that we are unable to include you on the waiting list manually.
Q: I don’t want to rush for the tickets. Is there any way that I can participate in a guided walk at St John’s Island?
A: As these walks are part of the Marine Conservation Programme, they are fully funded and registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are interested in guided walks and other programmes offered by SJINML, please fill in the visit form here, and our Outreach Officer will be in contact with you shortly. Do note that charges will apply to these programmes, and minimum group size for such programmes is 15 pax.
