MS. REENIE POON

Reenie graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science in 2026, majoring in Life Sciences and a minor in Aquatic Ecology. Her interests lie in understanding how people value our coasts and the ways in which shorelines contribute to people's lives beyond their ecological functions, with a particular interest in the cultural ecosystem services they provide.

As part of the Outreach and Education team here at the St John's Island National Marine Laboratory, Reenie oversees the Marine Park Outreach & Education Centre (MPOEC) and organises outreach and education programmes for interested individuals to learn more about the exciting research done at the marine station.

Through her work, Reenie hopes to inspire a deeper appreciation for Singapore’s shorelines, while encouraging greater awareness of the diverse habitats and rich biodiversity thriving along our coasts.
