We are pleased to announce the successful and heartening conclusion to our inaugural Marine Monitoring for Action Workshop (MMA2024), held between 7th-11th October 2024.
Organised by SJINML and the Marine Environment Sensing Network project, with the support of the British High Commission and the ConArtists Collective, this workshop brought together over 80 marine scientists, resource managers and policy managers from across the region, and the United Kingdom.
We are honoured to have had this event graced by our guest of honour, Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development & the Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration. We also sincerely thank Professor Yaacob Ibrahim, Chairman of the SJINML Governing Board and His Excellency Mr. Nikesh Mehta, British High Commissioner to Singapore, for their invaluable presence at MMA2024.
During this four-day workshop, participants enjoyed an exciting line-up of insightful lectures from renowned professors and engaged in intensive group workshopping sessions focused on tackling the challenges of marine conservation using a transformative theory of change model.
