The EYELA N-1210 Rotary Evaporator is an apparatus used to evaporate solvents from samples or solutions via evaporation. A vacuum pump attached lowers the pressure within the flask, hence lowering the boiling points of the solvents inside. This quickens the evaporate-to-dryness process and allows the researcher to obtain the solid crystal residues faster.
What kind of research is applicable / suitable for this equipment?
- Obtain the solid residue left behind after a sample solution has been evaporated.
- Commonly used in natural product isolation or chemical synthesis.
Any chargeable costs for equipment usage?
Yes, please approach Lab Manager or search the handbook (Section A6 – Schedule of rates for specialist facilities) for more details.
