High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

The 1260 Infinity II Agilent HPLC system is an analytical instrument that is used to analyze and separate components in a mixture. Depending on their affinity with the mobile and stationary phase used, different components take different amount of retention time to be eluted out. The different components can also be collected in a fraction collector column to be further analyzed and determined using instruments such as NMR. 

What kind of research is applicable / suitable for this equipment? 

• Separate a solution that may contain more than 1 chemical compound  

Any chargeable costs for equipment usage? 

Yes, please approach Lab Manager or search the handbook (Section A6 – Schedule of rates for specialist facilities) for more details. Chemicals used for HPLC will be purchased separately.
