A versatile and high-precision instrument used to measure 3D water velocity. For Laboratory flume studies, particularly for characterizing turbulence due to their HF sampling. The device sends out a beam of acoustic waves at a fixed frequency from a transmitter probe. These waves bounce off moving particulate matter in the water and three receiving probes “listen” for the change in frequency of the returned waves.
What kind of research is applicable / suitable for this equipment?
- Surface and bottom boundary studies
- Tank, flumes and physical models
- Very shallow water environments
- Turbulence
Any chargeable costs for equipment usage?
