zeiss Inverted microscope Axio Observer 7
The Apotome is a widefield fluorescence microscope which allows for the creation of optical sections of samples using optical sectioning structured illumination (OS-SIM). The presence of a movable diffraction grating and changing angles generates several raw images which are then reconstructed post-imaging to create a super-resolved image. This resolution can be almost double that of conventional diffraction limited microscopes.
What kind of research is applicable / suitable for this equipment?
- The Apotome is more suitable for in-situ observation of living cells or organisms in multi-well plates or culture flask.
