The LABCONCO Benchtop CentriVap Vacuum Concentrator is used to concentrate multiple small samples through the use of centrifugal force, vacuum and heat. This instrument may be used prior to analysis using machines like HPLC.
In scenarios whereby an oven cannot be used (i.e. biological samples, heat-sensitive samples), this instrument can evaporate liquid solutions quickly under vacuum so that they can be studied or analysed with other analytical instruments.
What kind of research is applicable / suitable for this equipment?
- Commonly used to concentrate samples before they are analysed with HPLC.
Any chargeable costs for equipment usage?
Yes, please approach Lab Manager or search the handbook (Section A6 – Schedule of rates for specialist facilities) for more details. Any chemicals used with this instrument is purchased separately.
